Student Code of Conduct

1. Purpose

The Student Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all students enrolled with Served to Cert. It is designed to promote a respectful, inclusive, and professional learning environment that supports academic success, wellbeing, and mutual respect.

2. Scope

This Code applies to all students enrolled in any course delivered by Served to Cert, regardless of delivery mode (face-to-face, online, blended), location, or partnership arrangements.

3. General Expectations

All students of Served to Cert are expected to:

  • Treat all staff, trainers, assessors, peers, and community members with respect, courtesy, and professionalism

  • Behave in a manner that promotes a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free learning environment

  • Take personal responsibility for their learning, conduct, and participation

  • Follow all instructions provided by trainers and staff

  • Abide by the law and Served to Cert policies, procedures, and agreements

  • Uphold the values of integrity, honesty, and fairness

4. Academic Integrity

Students must:

  • Submit their own original work

  • Avoid all forms of plagiarism, collusion, or cheating

  • Be honest and accurate in providing information, especially in RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning), enrolment, and assessments

  • Participate in assessments and learning activities ethically and fairly

5. Respectful Behaviour

Students must not:

  • Engage in bullying, harassment, or discrimination based on gender, race, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or other protected attributes

  • Use language or behaviour that is aggressive, offensive, or threatening

  • Interfere with another student’s ability to learn or participate

  • Damage, misuse, or steal property belonging to Served to Cert, its partners, staff, or students

6. Health, Safety and Wellbeing

Students are expected to:

  • Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures

  • Avoid behaviour that places themselves or others at risk of harm

  • Not attend training or assessments under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  • Report any hazards, incidents, or concerns to staff promptly

7. Digital and Online Conduct

When using Served to Cert’s systems, learning platforms, or communication channels, students must:

  • Use digital platforms in a professional and respectful manner

  • Refrain from sharing inappropriate, offensive, or unauthorised content

  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of others

  • Never share login credentials or misuse digital resources

8. Attendance and Participation

Students are expected to:

  • Attend scheduled training sessions and complete assessments on time

  • Engage actively in learning activities

  • Notify the RTO if they are unable to attend or participate

  • Cooperate with trainers and support staff to address learning needs or barriers

9. Breaches of the Code

Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in action under the Student Misconduct Policy, which may include:

  • Warnings (verbal or written)

  • Behavioural agreements

  • Suspension or cancellation of enrolment

  • Referral to external authorities (in serious cases)

10. Support and Reporting

Served to Cert encourages students to seek support and report concerns. If you experience or witness conduct that breaches this Code:

  • Contact a Student Support Officer

  • Speak with your trainer or another trusted staff member

  • Submit a formal complaint via the Student Hub at www.servedtocert.com.au

All reports will be handled confidentially and respectfully.
